Forest City’s Role in Conserving Biodiversity

Sustainable tourism development is a critical aspect of the travel industry today, and Forest City is leading the way toward environmental and cultural sustainability. In addition to promoting eco-friendly transportation and smart building technology, Forest City also plays a significant role in conserving biodiversity within the development. This commitment to conservation has made it a leader in sustainable tourism development.

Efforts made by Forest City

Forest City development has always prioritized environmental protection and safety. Since the beginning of the Go Green Project, Forest City has been committed to sustainable tourism development practices. Measures such as environmental impact assessment and water quality monitoring have been taken to ensure that the project’s progress does not harm the environment. To protect seagrass in the Tanjung Kupang area, Forest City partnered with experts from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2015. As a result of their efforts, the seagrass has significantly improved and is gradually returning to its natural state. In October 2019, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Forest City and Malaysian Natural Society (MNS), an environmental NGO with 80 years of experience. The aim was to discuss environmental initiatives around Forest City. A beach clean-up event with over 100 employees was organized by Forest City the following month, and the FC Go Green project was launched. Monthly environmental activities are now conducted as part of this project to raise awareness on environmental issues within Forest City.
